Are you looking for additional developers to join your startup venture? Whether you are looking for a short-term contractual developer, a long-term hire, or even a co-founder, VentureStorm makes it simple to connect with the top developers.
Keep it simple, just give the name of your startup venture. If you don't have a name yet, provide a short and simple name or description (ex: Music Application).
Giving a good description is incredibly important. This is your chance to sell developers on what you're working on why they should take interest in joining you. A few things to consider including in your description:
If you want a developer who is located nearby, you can simply select a radius (in miles), and only developers located within that radius relative to your location you will be able to view your project. Otherwise you can choose global which will allow any developer on VentureStorm to view your project. Keep in mind, we are still growing our community of developers, so to maximize exposure, it is recommended to do global. However, if you do select a proximity, it will display how many total developers are located within that proximity.
We have broken down skills into 4 main categories: iOS, Android, Web Frontend, and Web Backend. Most development tasks can fall under those 4 main categories, and we want to make the process as simple as possible for you. If you know what skills the developer will need more specifically, you can specify specific coding skills under the Know Your Stack? section by selecting Here. We have a basic list of skills; however, if you want to include skills that are not listed, feel free to contact us and we can add them. Otherwise, specifying in your description is also effective.
To improve the quality and appearance of the projects on the platform, we mandate that all projects have a logo to upload. If you don't need have a logo, we have partnered with 99designs to help you create one! Otherwise, feel free to contact us and we'd be more than happy to help!
Having mockups of your application makes it much easier for a developer to understand your vision. It also shows that you have thoroughly thought out your project and have committed time and effort into preparing to onboard a developer. They are not mandatory to upload, but we strongly recommend it. If you need help, we have a graphic design team that would be more than happy to assist you!
Uploading an NDA is also not mandatory, but is an option you are able to take advantage of if you want an extra layer of security. Only developers who have E-signed their name (acknowledging they have read your NDA) are able to view your project. Personally, we don't foresee this being an issue, and have not had any incidents to date. Success is all about execution, not the idea :).
